- How exposed you are. Screen share, Dock icon and process list are three separate problems. Most tools solve two.
- Whether the answer is usable out loud. A well-sourced paragraph you cannot speak is worse than nothing while someone waits.

The most complete product for someone actively interviewing: resume tooling, mock interviews, question banks and a live copilot in one subscription. If you will genuinely use the whole bundle in a compressed job hunt, the roughly $150 monthly price is defensible. If you only want the in-call overlay, you are paying for a lot of shelfware. ParakeetAI — capable, hosted, expensive
Solid live answers with model selection and a credit path for light users. The list monthly subscription around $149.90 is the sticking point, and it exists because hosted pricing has to absorb heavy users. Cluely — meeting-first, broad platform
Positioned around meetings rather than purely interviews, with macOS and Windows coverage. It handles the visible layers of stealth well. What it does not do is let you change what the app is called, which is the layer that survives a hidden Dock icon. More in the Cluely comparison.
LazyJobSeeker — good for the search, not after it

A macOS Electron app that floats a content-protected overlay above Google Meet and Zoom with no Dock or Cmd+Tab icon. Three modes (interview, client meeting, general chat), project threads with per-meeting summaries, length and tone controls, and system plus microphone audio mixing. Where Kalfi is the wrong choice
A comparison written by a vendor is only worth reading if this section is real, so here it is.
- You are not on a Mac. Build targets for other platforms exist, but macOS on Apple Silicon is what ships tested, and the stealth behaviour is tuned for it first.
- You want resume and application tooling. Kalfi does not write resumes, tailor cover letters or track applications. Final Round AI and LazyJobSeeker do.
- You need a signed, notarised build today. The current DMG is unsigned, so the first launch requires the right-click open flow. That is a real friction point on managed machines.
- You need vendor procurement paperwork. Larger competitors have the compliance documentation that enterprise buying requires.
- You want a free tier. Kalfi is paid from the first day: $14 BYOK or $19 hosted.
On "undetectable". No tool in this category is undetectable, ours included. These are ordinary applications running under your user account. Screen-capture protection depends on the macOS version and the conferencing client, managed devices can see installed software, and dedicated proctoring tools are built specifically to find this class of app. Test your own setup, and follow the rules of the room you are in.
Choosing in one paragraph
If you are mid-job-hunt and want one product to run the whole search, pay for Final Round AI for the two or three months it is useful, then cancel. If you are not on macOS, look at Cluely or ParakeetAI. Are these tools detectable?
Partially. Most hide the Dock icon and keep the overlay out of screen shares, but the app still appears in the macOS process list under its product name. Kalfi is the only one here that lets you choose that name. Nothing in this category defeats dedicated proctoring software.
Does a bot join my meeting?
Not with desktop overlay tools. Kalfi captures audio locally and draws on your own display, so no extra participant shows in the roster. Meeting-notes products that join with a bot account are a different category of product.
Is using one of these allowed?
It depends on the room. They are appropriate where assistance is permitted: client work, internal meetings, sales, practice, language support. If an employer, school or client says no, respect it.
