Cluely Alternative: Stealth Meeting Copilot Without the Fingerprint
Most meeting copilots define stealth as a hidden Dock icon. That covers the first place someone looks and none of the others. This is a practical comparison of what Cluely hides, what it does not, and how Kalfi handles the part nobody else touches: the name the app wears on your machine.

Three layers of exposure, not one
When people say a copilot is "hidden", they usually mean one of three separate things. It helps to pull them apart, because a tool can pass one and fail the other two.
- The shared screen. Does the overlay appear when you present a window, a tab or the whole display? This is what screen-capture protection addresses.
- The glance. If someone looks at your Dock, your app switcher or your menu bar, is there an obvious AI product sitting there?
- The process list. If anyone opens Activity Monitor, or a managed-device agent reports running processes, what string do they see?
Cluely and similar tools generally handle the first two. The third is where a recognizable product name keeps showing up, and it is the layer that is hardest to explain away if it is spotted, because it is written in plain text.
The name is the fingerprint
A window you cannot see in a screen share is still a running process. On macOS, the process title is what the app declares about itself, and most copilots declare their brand. Someone scrolling Activity Monitor during a call does not need to understand the architecture. They just need to read a familiar product name once.
Kalfi's approach is to hand that string to you. In Settings under Stealth branding, you set a display name and optionally upload a logo. The overlay header changes, the chip in the corner changes, and wherever macOS exposes the process title, it follows the name you picked. Call it after a notes app, a calendar helper, an internal tool your company actually uses, and it reads like ordinary desktop clutter.
Being precise about the limit. The binary still ships packaged as Kalfi so that updates and code signing work. What changes is what a person sees on screen and in the process list. A determined forensic inspection of the app bundle will find Kalfi. That is a deliberate trade, not an oversight.
What Kalfi does beyond the branding
Panel window with content protection
The overlay is a panel-level window flagged to stay out of screen capture, and it floats above fullscreen Google Meet and Zoom rather than behind them. The interactive demo on the landing page shows the difference: toggle stealth off and the suggested reply appears in the "what the room sees" panel.
No meeting bot
Nothing joins your call. Audio is captured on your Mac, from system output, your microphone, or both mixed together. There is no extra participant in the roster and no recording notice triggered by a bot account.
Answers you can actually say out loud
Stealth is wasted if the output is a wall of bullet points you have to read silently for fifteen seconds. Kalfi writes one speakable line first, with supporting points underneath, and you set length (brief, balanced, detailed) and tone (formal, neutral, casual) per session.
Threads instead of transcripts
Sessions group into a project. The second call with the same client or the second round with the same company starts with the context from the first, including what you already committed to.

What we are not claiming
This section exists because the category is full of promises that do not survive contact with a real IT department.
- Kalfi is not undetectable. It is a normal application running under your user account. Managed devices with endpoint monitoring can see applications you install.
- Screen-capture protection is OS-dependent. Behaviour varies across macOS versions and conferencing clients. Run a test call and confirm before a real one.
- Proctored exams are out of scope. Dedicated proctoring software is designed to find exactly this class of tool, and we do not try to defeat it.
- Room rules still apply. Kalfi is built for calls where assistance is permitted: client work, internal meetings, sales, practice, language support. If someone says no, that is the answer.

Common questions
Is Kalfi undetectable?
No. It hides the Dock icon, keeps the overlay out of screen captures where the OS allows, and lets you rename the app so the process list shows a name you chose. It does not modify the operating system and it will not defeat proctoring software.
What exactly shows in Activity Monitor?
Your display name, wherever macOS exposes the process title. That is the main practical difference from tools that hide the icon but keep the brand. The app bundle itself is still packaged as Kalfi so updates work.
Does the overlay show if I share a single window instead of the screen?
Sharing a single window shares that window, so Kalfi is not in the capture. Full-display sharing is the case that relies on content protection, which is where you should run a test on your own macOS version first.
Can I use my own model?
Yes. Anything OpenAI-compatible works: OpenAI directly, OpenRouter for model choice, or a custom base URL pointed at your own gateway. That is the $14 BYOK plan.
Windows support?
Build targets exist, but macOS on Apple Silicon is what ships tested. The stealth behaviour in particular is tuned for macOS first.
